Swatch Takes You on a Mission to Earth with Three New Bioceramic MoonSwatch Models

A Journey to Earth's Wonders

The allure of space exploration has always captivated humanity. Astronauts consistently report Earth as the most breathtaking sight from beyond our atmosphere. This sentiment inspired Swatch’s latest additions to the Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection: MISSION ON EARTH – LAVA, MISSION ON EARTH – POLAR LIGHTS, and MISSION ON EARTH – DESERT. These three non-limited edition watches pay homage to our magnificent planet, drawing inspiration from Earth’s captivating natural wonders – volcanic lava, the Aurora Borealis, and vast deserts.

Volcanic Fury: The MISSION ON EARTH – LAVA
The MISSION ON EARTH – LAVA is a fiery tribute to volcanoes, Earth’s natural pressure valves that allow molten rock, ash, and gas to erupt. The watch’s case boasts a vibrant red hue reminiscent of lava’s intense color palette. This model also subtly references OMEGA’s Speedmaster Moonwatch “Ultraman” with its iconic orange chronograph hand.

Dancing Lights: The MISSION ON EARTH – POLAR LIGHTS
The MISSION ON EARTH – POLAR LIGHTS celebrates the mesmerizing Aurora Borealis. Visible from space, these breathtaking atmospheric displays paint the night sky with curtains of vibrant colors, most commonly green and blue. The watch captures this celestial phenomenon with a dominant turquoise color and a dial sprinkled with tiny silver flakes, mimicking the look of aventurine glass dials – another nod to certain OMEGA timepieces. Each watch features a unique arrangement of these “stars,” making the dial truly one-of-a-kind. The chronograph subdials utilize a radial format for the numerals and indexes, echoing the Speedmaster design used in OMEGA’s Alaska II and III projects.

Desert Serenity: The MISSION ON EARTH – DESERT
The MISSION ON EARTH – DESERT evokes the vast, sandy expanses that cover over a fifth of Earth’s landmass. The watch’s case and hands are crafted in a calming sand color, while the dial and strap feature a greige (taupe) hue, mirroring the endless deserts found on every continent.

All three MISSION ON EARTH Bioceramic MoonSwatch models proudly display their mission statement on the caseback and boast the OMEGA X Swatch logos on the dial and crown. A subtle image of planet Earth adorns the battery cover, while the adjustable VELCRO® strap – perfect for any space adventurer – adds a touch of astronaut chic and features contrasting topstitching that matches the case color. For nighttime legibility, the hands and indexes are coated with Grade A Super-LumiNova®, ensuring a bright glow in dark environments.

These new additions retain the core design elements of the original OMEGA Speedmaster Moonwatch – the first watch worn on the moon: the asymmetrical case, the iconic tachymeter scale with the “dot over 90,” and the signature Speedmaster subdials. Like all Bioceramic MoonSwatch models, these timepieces boast a chronograph function.

The MISSION ON EARTH – LAVA, – POLAR LIGHTS, and – DESERT models, along with the entire Bioceramic MoonSwatch collection, are crafted from Swatch‘s innovative Bioceramic material – a unique blend of two-thirds ceramic and one-third bio-sourced materials derived from castor oil. So, prepare for liftoff and embark on your own mission to Earth with these captivating new Bioceramic MoonSwatch models!
